Last Stop: DC (and VA, WV, MD)

The last leg of home leave was back to DC for a couple days of work before a final weekend fling in the US and a Monday AM flight back to Manila.

Saturday's air show out at Andrew's Airforce Base (MD)

was followed by a Sunday road trip that took us through Virginia, West Virginia and Maryland for some apple picking, pumpkin viewing and a few brief glimpses of turning leaves.

Boston and Maine

After a great time in Chicago, I made my last stop of home leave: Boston/Maine.  I spent a quick day wandering around in Boston making the obligatory stops at the Make Way for Ducklings statue, Boston Commons, and the North End.

Then it was off to Maine for the weekend.  We spent an amazing day on Monhegan Island off the coast of Maine hiking, ship wreck spotting, and lobster/beer tasting.

Labor Day weekend in Chicago

Next stop on the home leave tour of the US was Chicago and Evanston for Labor Day weekend where I pretty much spent the entire long weekend along the beaches in Evanston.

Michigan and return to Utah

After the camping and hiking in national parks, it was time to head to Michigan for some time at the lake, a few baby birthday celebrations and the obligatory stop at Short's.

Then it was back out to Utah for more national park visits (Arches and Canyonlands), glamping, and the opening game for Michigan (and Harbaugh's M coaching debut).
