One of the perks of working at the embassy in Manila is access to rent the Ambassador's residence in Baguio. It's a historic old residence that, during World War II was the home of General Yamashita and is where he surrendered in 1945. The whole thing was a little surreal, kinda of like staying in a museum and the cool, mountain air was a nice break from the Manila heat.
