Since the USAID offices here in Manila also cover 12 Pacific Island countries, we have to do some travel from time to time to the Pacific. Though it doesn't look that far on the map, Pacific travel is actually pretty far. This trip to Fiji took about 20 hours each way. Unfortunately since I was there to attend a meeting, I didn't really get to see anything of the island other than the inside of the meeting room.
Landing in Seoul
Fijian customs declaration
The conference hall - a model of a traditional Fijian community meeting center
The US Delegation - the tropical shirts were required conference attire.
Welcome to the Pacific
From the plane. Hopefully I can actually see a beach up close and personal next time.
